    Parts for 79 GS425L?

    Hey all,
Just wondering how difficult it is to get side covers for my 1979 gs425L?
the ones that are on there are both broken.
Also wondering about a front chrome fender. Mine is bent pretty bad.
Any idea where i could find these items?

    Thanks

I would try bikebandit.com for parts.

      Thanks,
      I'll check that site out.
Quick question though, short of purchasing that cross reference software, is there any other way to find out what parts cross over from bike to bike?
I've been looking at the pictures in the gallery on the main page and i noticed that a couple of the other L models from 1979 to 1981 also appear to have the same side covers that i'm looking for.
Just wondering if there is a way to tell what bikes had the same parts?

      Thanks,
      G

Use the fishe and look up the part numbers for different year bikes.

          Dumb question maybe, but:
          Use the fishe?

Not difficult at all, just takes money. These guys have NOS (new old stock) covers for $39 for your bike, but new ones usually need to be painted. . The following link is to the fiche at flatoutmotorcycles.com. I tend to steer people to them because they generaly have the lowest prices. I've bought a lot of items from them. Bikebandit is asking $49 for the same thing.

You just need to put in your bike information, and select "Frame Cover" near the top of the page. http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/fi...ion_detail.asp

It's still suprises me how many parts are still available for GS bikes. The fiche is dangerous for me. I tend to get carried away, and am turning back the clock on my bike, one part at a time.
