    Gs 450

I am looking for info on a GS450. It has round cam covers, so does that designate a S or E model? Attached is a picture, could you help me identify it? It needs both side covers, but I have seen a variety of side cover shapes on Ebay and I wonder how interchangeable these side covers are. I am planning on a cafe racer or streetfighter look for this bike with new paint for sure. Thanks.

        Most likely a 450E.

Usually the sidecovers say S on them and the wheels are gold trimmed instead of black/grey. S's usually have a 1/4 fairing as well, but you can never tell what happened before you get it.

Here is a quick picture of the yellow beast. Painting it and chopping the tail are my #1 goals. If this is an "E" model, how many years did they make them like this with these bodylines?

Looks like an S model to me. Quite rare in the US so good luck with finding side covers if you live in the states.

It has the black wheels as can be seen in the picture, will the E side covers fit on this bike?

Some day I, too, want to have a bike *in* the house. ;-)

Haha me too!!! I guess I'd have to 'house break' them first... fresh seals and gaskets all around.

                      Check out this site:

The tank, and probably the rest of the bike, is definately newer than -81.
You must get side covers that fit that tank.

i forgot to say my 450e is a 1987 one
unsure of the year they changed the styling though
but probably any 450e side panels from mid 80`s ie 85 +- should fit

and you cant beat having your bike in the kitchen
especialy on the cold winter nights

Well, I found out it is an "82 GSX400 not the 450. Is this any worse?

I have a GS450L but I am unsure what exactly you are looking for. The motor is in a box... If you need any pics or parts.. let me know.
