    will front and rear break rotors from an 80-81 gs1000 fit a 79-gs1000???


    edit: wow im retarded.. cant believe i put break.. instead of brake...hahaha..

    Yes, But you'll want to swap out the front calipers also, the rear caliper is the same on 78 to 81's The caliper carriers(part that bolts to forks) are different between L models and E models, I have found the older front master cylinder will work just fine on newer calipers.I have got screaming deals on these parts on Ebay, disks and calipers, although every caliper and master cylinder has had to be rebuilt, considering the cost of a new disk caliper ect, a rebuild is cheap and a good way to make sure of brake and rider safety.
    Later model disks are thinner than 79's. I converted a 78 GS1000E to 80/81 disks and calipers and Master cylinder(S model fairing made the swap of Master cylinder for clearance purposes a must).

        why change the caliper?? different rotor diameter or what?
