I really like how it turned out, great job. Funny that when I looked at the first photo I said to myself. Looks great but an "S" fairing would really finish it off.

      Thanks!
You, Ryan (Firstimer) and TomMLC set the bar kinda high for me. I was keeping up with how all you guys were painting your 78 1000's and decided I had to at least attempt to be a little different. (Mine was almost red twice and almost black once) :-D
Then I hit on this: What if Suzuki made a 1000S in 1978? What would it look like?
Looking at the old 70's era two strokes like the GT750, the Wes Cooley racebike and other period bikes, this is what I imagined one might have looked like.

      Best regards, Jeff

Thats what I was shooting for. A "what if" model like my 80 GS550 "S".

With my new project, I'm kind of thinking along the same lines, except my theme will be "what if Suzuki made an 1150E styled bike in '78". I'm going with a silver frame, black motor, black pipe, and the same blue and white that is on my 1150, but in a "Skunk" theme of some sort. She'll be the 1150's "older sister"

                That'll be cool.
I think going with a factory theme in a custom way is a good challenge.
If executed it properly, the folks that don't "get it" still think it's nice and the folks that do "get it" are even more impressed.

Once you get that fairing on, that is REALLY going to look sweet. A Wes Cooley Skunk.... love it! :-D

I like the blacked-out wheels, too. How did you do them?

Etching primer and single stage satin black.

Dan-O: Howdy and Love you too. Doing good, feeling good.
