Beautiful bike! It brings back fond memories of my own blue (previously burgundy with orange stripe) '78 GS1000. Here is a scanned photo of mine, circa 1983 (GS1100E front and rear suspension)

Very nice. The wheels really set it off. :-D

As many of you know, my bike is a Skunk, not an "S". I really like the lines of the 78 and didn't want to do an outright copy an "S".
I wanted to build something that didn't exist. One of one so to speak. So my whole dilemma has been: What would a GS1000S look like if Suzuki had made one in 78, instead of 79?
The body lines are different. How would the stripes flow?

I really like how they did the Australian bikes because the stripes flow with the tank. Here's an example: The Sharpy bike.

So, I decided to build on that idea and come up with something that looked factory and would work with the lines on the tank.

I think it just might work. Btw, I gave up waiting on the painter and did it myself.

I just knew your bike needed that fairing. The way you matched the paint scheme on fairing to the stripes on the tank look great. Congrats on a job well done.

Looks fracktastic Jeff! She sure is purty! You gonna change the seat at all or sticking with the stocker set up for comfort AND speed?

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

It's still not finished, and may never be finished. There is still so much I want to do to it, but haven't had the coin to drop on it. This is as far as it'll go this year though. I'm sure Renobruce will get his titanium plated or something so I'll have to spend most of the winter playing catch up...

The seat stays. It's just too comfortable. :-D
