Any mods to make that monster oil cooler fit well, Steve?
Thought gsxr forks were non USD til 93, when they went water cooled??? Awesome, awesome bikes.Mike

I wish i could say i did the work but the bike 90% finished when i bought it.
The bike was put together by Patrick Dale Davis in Oviedo, Fl. I have not any luck tracking him down.
Cassius086, the oil cooler is an Earls 24 row. It is mounted on the crossmember of the downtubes. The forks are indeed from a '93 then, thank you for letting me in on that.
8trackmind, the rearsets are Raasks. A set-up that was popular years ago.
They are fairly big and sturdy looking and put me in a great riding position.
80GS1000, the motor mounting plates do not look much different than stock, but again having not put this brute together i cannot be of much help.
The bike is a blast to ride, second gear power wheelies. With the 120/180 tire combo and stiff ride it took a while to get used to the muscle required to ride quickly. Definitely it is the rider that is holding things up.2@ \'78 GS1000

Is that a custom-built frame or bought frame? That's originally what was in store for my "E". I decided to go the more streetfighter route. But I'd definitely like more info on that setup!

I keep coming back to this thread. I'm just amazed at the level of skill out there. I spent the usual two hours Friday changing my oil, cursing the evil 10mm acorn nuts and washers on my filter cover. If I change the oil, clean, adjust and lube the chain, wash very occasionally, I'm just about maxed out.
To do list: swap superbike bars for new non-rusty superbike bars, clean latex house paint overspray off bike, swap '82 gauges for '83, recover seat with Sargent cover and supercell foam, adjust valves (for the first time in my life). All this stuff is sitting in my basement waiting for me.

my 83 gs750e frankenstein
This is my 83gse that has a 96 srad tail section, 86 gsx1100 middle and upper fairings, and a front tire cover off a honda cbr. all i am in need of now is a upgraded set of rims... any insight on this task would be greatly appreciated, i can't find any information on what i need to do to upgrade my rims. I am assuming that i would need to stick to suzuki but i dont know what yars will work.
