    Frank Perreault has written a wonderful introduction to auto painting at http://www.thegsresources.com/garage/gs_repaint.htm.

    I've had a little experience in that line (~5 car's worth), but carefully reading his article has let me get results that are far beyond anything I've been able to do before.

    I would amplify one point, however. Frank says twice that the painting area should have good lighting. I would say it needs EXCELLENT lighting, with point sources coming in from several angles. It's the reflections from those light sources that will let you see the condition of the paint film.

    I'd also like to see some reference to the steps needed to shoot a two-tone finish, though I did find an experienced guide at:
