I put mine (Napoleon) on Saturday. I have only ridden about 15 miles with them, but I notice a big improvement over the standard mirrors. Are yours adjustable to the outside some maybe?

The pic on the right shows the mirrors. Far left is the day I picked the bike up.

                          Guys,

I've got new superbike bars installed on my 1100 and I have two Napolean bar end mirrors. On the side with the throttle, I'm having a bit of trouble.

I first had to drill and file out the plastic end of the throttle so the mirror piece would fit through. Next, the plastic over-hangs the metal handlebar by about 1/8" or so. When I tighen the bar end mirror into the handlebars, it pulls the mirror base against towards the bar...eventually into the plastic and then it binds the throttle.

                          Am I missing something?

Do I need to grind off the last 1/8" of plastic so it's flush with the metal bar end? As I understand it, the plastic helps 'stop' the throttle against the bar.

                          ~Adam

If I understand the problem correctly, yes the plastic needs to go.

I just replaced the hand grips on my 1000 and ended up destroying my Ken Sean bar end mirrors in a fit of rage and frustration. I didn't really mind wrecking them because they never did tighten down and never stayed in place while ridding. I've read that the Emgo's are junk but they do have a metal mount instead of an expanding rubber mount. What exactly is junk about them? I was thinking of the Napoleon's, but they look like the Ken Sean's and I don't want to spend that much if their rubber mounts are just as bad as the Ken Sean's. I think I might just order a pair of the Emgo's and see how they work, they're only $12 US from Dennis Kirk.
