    FZ1 Bars on 1100ez

These handle bars are from a Generation II, FZ1 (06-07). I think they only came in silver those years. Cost $35.00 from Flatout

I think they look sweet. Only problem for me is they give me a pain in the back after about 90 minutes. They are a little higher and further back than Superbike bars so they may be an option for some. Wish my back liked them more.

I just switched these out for gloss black Gen I, FZ1 bars (01-05). Don't have a picture yet but they don't look nearly as good. I own a Gen 1 also and know those bars are long term comfortable. I'll try to post a photo soon.

Me too, but my shoulders would suffer. Too much weight on the hands. I have K&N Superbars and like them at highway speed but for putting around Im liking the looks of the new B1250 bars.

Dave, the B1250 bars look like they provide a nice riding position. I'd say they look to be about an inch taller than the Gen I, FZ1 bars and about the same distance back.

May be awhile before they are available as spare parts.

Those look badass. I love that look. Shame they cause your back to hurt.

          Doug,

The good news is they only take 10 minutes to change over so if I need to dress up for some event or a picture I can always put them back on for a spell.

Don't write them off as an option, it could just be my aging body.

              Phil,

Those are just standard 1996 GSXR 1100 forks. I bought the entire front end on Ebay including the wheel, brakes and forks. It bolts right in, bearings are all the same. Makes a huge difference in how it handles. I wondered if clugeing all these parts together would work, and it does.

The bracket to get the gauges to mount so they look right took a little time. It bolts on to the bottom of the top of the GSXR triple clamp. It also holds the ignition.

Any chance you took a pic of the bracket you made prior to installing the gauges? I made a couple, and they are functional, but look like poop.

                      Cassius086,

Sorry to take so long to respond but those bastages I work for have me on travel again. I didn't take a picture of the gauge/ignition bracket before mounting however, I took a quick look on Sunday and I think I can just drop the headlight bucket (two screws) to give you a view from the bottom. The mounting of the ignition was the tricky part. I get home Friday, so I'll try to get it for you this weekend. Hope that not too late.

Mrbridgeport, When I mounted the USD forks I needed away to mount the headlight bucket and found those brackets. I just drilled a hole in them to accept the stock signals. Those forks are 50mm at the clamp. Do you have USD forks?

If you do I can check my records and let you know where I got them.

Wow! Thanks! A pic would be great! I was at home after I read your post, and saw how great your gauges looked, and was wondering how I could take the time to get it right....thought of taking off the top clamp, and getting a piece of plexi (since it is clear) to make a template of where the holes would need to be. I really would like to make one solid piece, and maybe add some spacers or something.....

Thanks again for the effort, kind sir! :-D
