Ok so I sold the bike

Sorry guys its been fun but I sold the GS in favor of a VTX1300.

whoa it took some practice getting used to that beast . ( all 670 lbs of it)

Anyway the gs was a great learning experience but finances dictate that i couldn't keep both. I sold it localy on craigslist to a kid who was a little shakey but should pick it up in no time. He also appreciated the advanced mods done to the GS and for that i was happy to give him a deal. I also gave him this web site. No doubt you'll be hearing from him.

As an added bonus, he's a tattooist ( artist)so he threw in a couple of tats with the deal. This will be my and the wifes first tattoos and at our advanced ages, we had nothing to lose. Bungy jumping is next.

Actually the wife had started to express more and more of an interest in riding hence the decision to go with the honda. With the tat , she'll be a full blown biker broad.

Keep the road in the middle.

well Ron the decision was made more by price than by any particular model. I had been looking for some time , mostly at 800"s. although a friend suggested that a bigger bike might be better for additional riders.

The VTX came up in a local newspaper after I had done a 5 state lookup on craigslist and e-bay over several months. Sometimes things just fall into place. The guy was in a bind and sold it for KBB trade-in value. Its an 03.

I found out later about the massive torque, single pin crank etc...(assorted rattles) etc...

The gs was quicker and more nimble around town but boy can that VTX cruise. Maybe i'll pick up another one (GS ) in the future. Untill then i'll wish the new kid all the luck he can muster.

One things for sure, i won't be stripping this one down for awhile.
