    Replacement seat?

    I was going to post this in the parts section but there were no post in the last 30 days so I didnt think I would get a responce. Anyway, where can I get a replacement seat or a good seat cover for a 1980 GS850?

      Seat covers that is. If you want a new seat you have to wait (like me) FOREVER for a seat to show up. Or I am beginning to see if there is someone who could make me a custom seat :P

        Oldbikebarn simply re-sells seat covers from B&H:



        Given OBB's shaky reputation, I'd cut out the middleman, personally.

        Do NOT order your seat in the textured material -- it's perforated and thus totally useless if you actually go places on your motorcycle.

        Otherwise, their materials and workmanship are absolutely top-notch.

        They only make covers for stock shapes, so if your seat has been re-shaped or badly damaged, you'd need to at least find a decent used seat pan and foam.

        Or poke around locally to see who the local riders recommend -- a good upholstery shop should be able to whip up a seat cover for not too much dough.
