Mr. Pickard is right, the stickers need to come off. The ugliest bike I ever bought had them, When I got it home we removed them immediately, and it was still pretty ugly.
The stickers were applied to the dartboard in the garage, they were ugly there too.
The problem is they just look so ****ing cheap...
By the way, the bike eventually looked pretty good....

      Indeed.

The bike looks fantastic, but the VatoZone stickers gotta go.

P.s. Sorry Intruder for muddying up the thread with this crap. Some people are just arogant *******s

          every one calm DOWN!!

Whoa....whoa....whoa....easy peeps......no reason to get into a tiff over stickers....as I have said SEVERAL times now.....it is MY taste, and.. it is MY bike......the paint and other stuff I did to MY tastes, not yours, your mommas, your brothers....nor the prez(I'm speaking in generalities here). I've seen some bikes on here that are in my opinion uglied up, and some that are nice....and to be honest, I wasn't really looking for opinions, I was just posting the progress from what I started with to the end result. So, let just chill....8-[, but, I do have to say thanks to Ironriot for defending me, that is quite admirable.

p.s. I stand sort of corrected, I did ask: " let me know what you all think" but I was only referring to the before and after paint, not necessarily the added after affects, which, again, is a matter of taste(for the ??'th time)

Don't mention it. And yeah I knew you liked them because I had read earlier in the thread that they were to go along with a certain style that you had going on. Either way enough of that.

*Mini-update on my bike just for YOU to know I found a pic of a member, isaac's bike with a harley fender. It was EXACTLY how I want my bike to look. I've finally found my direction and bidding on one now. I'll let you know how that turns out. And I'm back to ebay for carbs

Yeah, that would look nice....my Intruder has that style of fender, and the 21 inch rim...and my bike sitting next to my buddies Harley(sporster 1200), (from the fender down of course) look the same. The skinny tall wheel looks good, I'd like that look for the GS but...depends on if I keep it. Did you get the e-bay link I sent you on that rack of carbs?

I did and had bid on them but I forgot about them and the bidding went past what I had set my max for. I finally googled what an Intruder looks like and had no idea that suzuki made a harley clone lol. The one's I was looking at looked pretty good though. You have an pictures of yours around here?(the intruder i mean)

Nice bike you got there. Good and shiny.

The harley fender came in today. Now to think of ways to mount it. I'll post some pics when I find that camera and when it gets mounted

Cool, I just got finished removing the bags off the Intruder, and put them on the GS cuz I have a new set of bags coming, via E-Bay....found a 7 piece set for like $41 new($60 with shipping)...I've become spoiled having bags....stash my riding gear, amongst other stuff. So, while I had the bags off, since I had to remove the whole damn seat to get to them, I pulled my rear air box off, plus the carb, and cleaned all of it, and waxed whatever I couldn't reach before, I've had a problem with the Intruder with the rear jug not firing at idle....that's why I cleaned(wasn't really gummed up or anything ) the rear carb. But, it's still doing the same thing, so it may be electrical...not sure yet, it still runs great, but, if I let it " warm up " for too long, over time, it dilutes the oil with the unburnt fuel....which is not a good thing, since the thing isn't firing on that jug. Going down the road is fine. I was browsing(as usual) E-Bay to find a universal windshield for the GS as well....haven't found one I like yet....I don't want a big gaudy one, just one to break the wind. The weather is turning chilly up here, and want to ride as long as possible, and having the shield helps out a lot! And I plan to " park " the Intruder for the season cuz I have a oil leak that I need to get fixed before next year..... me and some buddies from work are thinking of riding to Sturgis SD so I want her to be in top shape! I thought about riding the GS....but....a 1000 trip on a old beast like her.....don't yet trust it enough...not that I doubt it would make it, but I haven't yet gone completely through the wiring, and re-done all the grounds and connections to feel confident enough in trusting it to go that far.....around here, or a few hundred miles....probably with no worries....but beyond 600.....would rather not take the chance, nor could afford the bill to get her back home.
Thanks for the compliment, and looking forward to seeing the pics with the new fender.....might inspire me to do the same.....I don't much care for the factory one as it is.....I thought about cutting up mine, but I'm not much good in the fab dept. Mechanical, yes, electrical, yep...paint....only on small stuff...like the bike stuff....fabbing....forget it....mostly due to a lack of the proper tools, and no experience. I thought the GS would look cool to cut flames into the fenders, but...as I said, without the proper tools(plasma cutter) and a lack of artistic abilities....that is going to be a no go. I'd like to find a sissy bar with a back-pad.....if you know of anyone that has one...let me know....I can't find sh*t up here.

Link to those bags? I've been playing around with the idea of getting some. I like being able to stash things like a squirrel but I hate how gawdy some bags can look.... And hmm not firing aye? I don't know much about motorcycle mechanics but I'm good with cars. Checking your electrical is a good bet seeing as there really isn't any other reason for the back cylinder to not be firing. Might even be just a f*cked spark plug, but then again the not firing only at idle rules that out. Well if worse comes to worse give it a bit of gas at long stops and get it up out of idle. Cuz yeah unburnt fuel REEKS havoc on cylinder walls. Which is why I'm a major fan of F.I.. Hardly any cylinder wear to worry about.... And damn those windshields must be a hot ticket. Alot of people seems to want one. I personally don't like them. I think they're fugly but then again I don't really have a purpose for one. The weather is usually hot as f*ck down here. And when its not hot its at a nice cool 85 degrees. And yeah I know what you mean about taking the GS on a nice long trip like that. A bit scary . But i think it'd be cool. A nice departure from the norm...... Yeah and I'm with you about the factory fender. I'm not a fan of it. But like you I have ZERO fab skills so this is gonna be an experiement. Besides we all have to start somewhere right. So right now I'm just trying to look at the pic of Isaac's bike that I got and see how he mounted that fender

And today is your lucky day. I so happen to have a sissy bar. Complete with padding. AND a little luggage rack. Aren't you lucky we're friends lol. Pay for shipping and its yours. The stupid thing is taking up space and I hate sissy bars. Only thing is that its chrome and its pretty rusted. I'll try and take the rust off and get pics up. Found my camera BTW

Heh, that's the story of my life....day late dollar.....ehh...you know the rest...to tell the truth though, I just thought about it the other night after putting my bags on, and I have a rear bag that attaches to the sissy bar, and I really use that bag a lot....and thought " hmm....sure could use a sissy bar right about now..." and the grab bar just doesn't cut it.

Oh, and Iron.....after taking a june-bug to the throat one time, and nearly knocking me off the bike, I much more prefer the shields!

Thats just too funny. I'm sure I'll learn my lesson the hard way though. But for now I'll cruise without one. Sorry I wasn't able to get any pics up today, got called into work. Or VatoZone as our esteemed colleague, Mr. Pickard, likes to call it
