Yeah this thread veered horribly off topic lol.... Sucks to hear about the bad expirence though. Things like that happen but usually it comes out good for the customer, well atleast in my store it does. If that carb hadn't had been in the computers we would've just scanned another carb (more than likely cheaper) and had you on your way. But we're pretty laid back. Some AutoZone's down here are like the one you dealt with. Uptight and b@stards

On a note about Advanced. The one's down here are ASS-BACKWARDS. The people don't know sh!t and they're over-priced. BUT!!!!! There are some hot chicks working there. Which makes it fun to go in and shop around

Yea the guy started telling me about one time he sold a part that wasn't listed in there computers for a jeep and the guy came back bitching. This wasn't the only reason that I quit going there. It didn't matter what time of day I went in there was always a line even if there was only one other customer in the store.

I guess it all matters where you are. I've actually found that pepboys is useally the easyist to deal with but there also the furthest away.

It happens. People can be so ****y sometimes. And thats after we go out of our way to help them out but oh well.... And you know I actually know an Autozone EXACTLY like that down here. And I hate going to that AutoZone. But ironicly enough. They're the same one's that are arrogant b@stards. I guess it goes hand in hand

I had a S-10 that I bought several years ago, that I re-built with all Zone stuff.....lowered it, painted it...ect...it was a nice truck when I got done.....matter of fact, was just there today, and bought a new cover for the GS, plus a valve cover breather( one of those little chrome blue cone ones) ....the cover only cost me 6.99 thanks to the rewards program.....

Seems that this thread is only a 3-way conversation now between you, me, and Cafe......ah well....you guys are cool regardless....sh*t.....I still need to send you the link for the bags....I'll try to get that to you either tonight or tomorrow....
Dude! Let me tell you, gettin parts from a parts store and working there are 2 opposite things! Being a customer is the OPPOSITE of being the employee. Take it from one who has spent (wasted?) 23 years in the car parts biz, if you have more that a 9th grade education, you're already overqualified for anything other than dealership work. There's a reason why there's a saying that goes "you don't have to know how to spell your own name to look up parts."
I'm fully aware of how many people I just offended. Then again, if you work all day at one of these places and watch the parade of humanity? walking thru the door, you'll understand. The difference is the same difference as being a turista in the Big easy and being a native. OPPOSITE!!!!!

Well, I do agree on that.....about the 9'th grade thing.... I was going to get a part time job at my local Zone.....filled out an app....got the interview and was told that I was OVER qualified.... WHAT? I never heard that one before!!.....I work for a city(aka municipal worker, gov't employee...whatever)...but, didn't think that I would be considered over qualified!.....even for a management position....go figure. For me it was just for something to do, and to get the employee discount. And... you really don't realize how STUPID the majority of the public is, until you have to deal with them!!.....just ask me....I'll tell you!!....wait, I just did....never mind.... and it's on ALL levels, not just retail....it gets 10x worse at the municipal level!!

                    4-way flashers

                    OK,
I'm going to try to get this back on topic.....has/does anyone have 4-way flashers?
If not, has anyone made their own hazard flasher system, if so, how hard/easy was it? I don't think that it would be that difficult, a flasher, change the rear bulbs to 1157s' tap the front wires for the turn filaments, and a switch. Any ideas/schematics.....I already know how to do this, and plan to wire a system up to my bike(s) but, thought that maybe someone had some good/better ideas or tips.

I know that this kinda belongs in the " tech " area, but it can also be considered an appearance mod, because of the fact, that if your in a parade or something, it's a visible modification especially if your bike didn't come with hazards. I don't know why ALL bikes don't come with hazards, I would think it to be considered a " safety " item.....I don't know of a car made today that don't have them........anyone else?

I was talking to my uncle the other day and he thought he had some left over from when he used to ride that I could have.
