ehhh...oh another tip...loosen your chain adjusters so you can push the rear wheel up as far as it will go to get the chain tension off the sprocket, no twisty twisty...and dont EVER say that again :P

We'll just checked how loose my chain was and was able to move it about # 1/2 inches which I think is way to loose

Actually i think 1/2 inch is recommended...it is on the KZ but thats a 530 chain...or maybe its 1/4 inch of play in the bottom side...id have to look at the manual. That isnt really that much play...

one small step for cafe kind....

Ok so update...today i got a little rambunctious and took the tank that i just traded some gs1100 gauges for, and i made an attempt at pounding knee inserts.....lets just say, its not as scary as you think...either that or i got lucky. I couldnt be happier with how easy it went...the metal bent just where i wanted it to, and the one side ( i only have one side done so far,) turned out pretty damn good. lil bondo to smooth it out and i had a dog and his name was BINGO!

Kick ass man. Hopefully you didn't throw away the envelope with the money inside. Those gauges should work great. A good cleaning will go a LONG way. And trust me when I say good I MEAN GOOD lol

Cat's ass.... I gotta try that PB blaster for restoring plastic.

                          BTW
1.I been meaning to ask where did you get the spoked rims that are on your cafe? They look good

                          2. The splined shaft that the front sprocket is on, is there a washer or something that's supposed to go between the sprocket and the nut that holds it on?
Mine has too much play and it's making me worry. Not to mention I looked at it again and I DEFINITELY need a new one. All of the teeth turned into hooks.... Damn thing

Lemme consult the Clymer...there should be a plate that has one edge bent up to keep the bolt from spinning off but after that im not sure...ive only had to replace the one on my lil KZ and it was totally cakeass...get with you in a jiff on that.

Those are stock...with a shat ton of rustoleum black on em...hard as a rock, and ive even spilled brake fluid on em, which is a sure paint eater...and thanks I like em i kinda think it sets off the bike more than the tank and seat on some cafe bikes. Ive seen some sweet spoke set ups...One i like em blacked out, two i dont have the patience to polish chrome ones all the damn time
