No the sprocket cover that is something I don't think I can get rid of.

huh...i didnt have a problem and i have a wider sprocket which meant more upward angle on the chain.... im pullin that off btw if you're interested in it. give you alot more low end grunt, but not great for the highway...no money, if you want it just help me swap it

I think the problem is more the slack in the chain then the actual angle. I want my bike to be more of a highway cruise so I don't think that will work.

Cos im not positive but lowering the angle *shouldnt* slack the chain...i didnt have to do crap on mine when i raised it back up..same amount of play as before.

I think some of my problem is that the chain is old and worn out.

true..that a 630x96? They're a pain to find and they only come in sealed...$$$ may consider converting to a 530...they have conversion kits for it with two new sprockets and the chain...might cost the same as the chain itself. Not many ppl make that 630 anymore.

Actually I already have a new 630 chain. The po had bought one because the chain had to much slack when he got it but never got around to putting it on. So when I bought the bike he gave me the chain.

Its got a master link. It said to cut the chain on there and hook the new chain to the old chain to pull it through. Is this the best way or is there a better way.

No that will work fine. Last time i changed a chain i changed a sprocket so it was already apart anyway. I have done it that way before...just breakit hook the new up, put the bike in neutral and pull it thru the front sprocket...BUT its prolly gonna be way shorter since it hasnt stretched, so push your rear wheel up or you wont get it to reach. Its amazing how much they stretch over time...on that KZ i had to push the wheel all the way up. and even then it was hard to get the master together...and yes, it was the right chain:P

What up! Just workin on that tank, and poppin in here between coats of bondo and sanding. Almost done, one more thin coat in my knee inserts and shes ready for primer. I didnt get your stuff out yet man, im an ass i know, but for sure tomorrow, i have a whole car load of stuff to take to UPS store...including a frame..heh..just to see how much it will cost to ship. I stopped in there the other day and asked and gave a rough explaination of it. Weighs about 50 lbs (if that) yea long so high...shes like "Well i shipped a motorized bike the other day, i think it was 130 for packaging and 160 for shipping" I then again explained that it had NO WHEELS NO MOTOR etc...she didnt get it. So ima have to take it down there. Plus i got stuff to go out for other GSRs including yourself...what up with you?

heheh Also Italiano for Bike (MotoGuzzi, SuperMotard etc etc) Well i gotta do something about getting some pics up broseph...I am gonna have to break down and buy a new USB cable, and hopefully ill be able to find one...chances are they dont sell them seperately, so ill have to buy another camera...F U Kodak...That tank is turning out nicer than i planned...im excited..i pounded out the rest yesterday, and set it on my frame..oh man it looks vicious. Straight Cafe Tasty. Been working the bondo all night...its a bitch on all those curves and ive never been good with it. but its going better now im getting the hang of the best way to approach it. The bondo was harder than the actual beating. Need to get some acid to clean the rust out of the inside. I dont think im going to seal it if the rust comes off clean...its just surface rust and i dont want to risk that liner stuff coming off and cloggin up my petcock.
