Thats a popular thing with the SOHC honda guys...they make alot of those for them, but ive yet to find em for GSs..finned stator covers, clutch and points covers, Some guys drill what they call "speedholes" in their sprocket covers..dunno how that makes it any faster except that they try to get rid of as much weight as possible..lol
I was actually refering to the halfmoon plugs that go in the end of your camcase...Under the round covers...didnt know if thats what you were talking about.

Lol the way to get the rattle can finish so shiny is to knock down all the orange peel and and then wet sand and work your way up to 2000 grit sand paper. Go from 1000 to 1500 to 2000 a few times and then when you have an absolutely smooth surface rub the rubbing compound in. That shine come from the rubbing compound filling in all the tiny little scratches. But you gotta buff hard and fast. Trust me it does the shine on its own

Yeah i got the sanding down...i had my other tank smooth as a babys arse...but i could never get the sheen on it. So i hit it again with clear and left it...now when you say rubbing compound are you talking about actual RUBBING compound or polishing compound? There's a difference. i bought polishing compound it did next to nothing...but i was afraid of what the rubbing compound would do

Gotcha...welp i guess i'll give her a second go round...i sanded out all my bad spots where the gas got on it..didnt seem to get thru to the colour so if i clear it a few times and sand her down again i should be able to polish her up nice. It will be an excellent back up tank after i get my new one finished...I'll prolly end up repainting that old one the same way i paint my new one, so should i take any extended trips on the cafe i could slap that tank on there and not lose the capacity i have lost by beating the knee dishes into it.

Oh hey Cole you dont have a set of jack stands or a bike jack i could borrow do ya? I need to take these forks off my bike to paint them and install my fork boots. I have yet to find a center stand that will work for my bike, and i plan on buying a jack, but there are other costly things taking precedence at the moment..
