I think a 50 tooth is stock for my 550. I counted it once but forgot the number.... One of these days I might put a big ol' nasty sprocket on it and lay waste to my friends. But for right now I want a highway cruiser...... Hey BTW have you topped out on your bike yet?

Scarry to say no i havent...I hadnt had a tach hooked up till now, and ive been on the freeway a few times with it, but very cautiously since i didnt know how it was going to react with that monster sprocket on it...untill one day i was coming home from work (actually the last day i rode it before i shut her down to do everything ive done to it thus far) and I was blowing by traffic, had to be doing 90ish. AND IT WAS STILL PULLING...
I slowed down since i didnt know where i was redline wise, but it was still pulling and screaming. Im interested to see where she actually winds out at when i get her back on the road. But alas, the snow is falling here as we speak. So she may wait till spring for a shakedown. Unless i get a good dry day soon. We'll see.

Interesting I wonder what my lowly 550 can muster

bah i bet it can do the ton easy. and IMO when do you ever really NEED to go faster than that?? lol

              Comment

Lol its not that I want to be doing the ton often its just that folks on here scare me into thinking that my little 550 will have a hard time with anything above 80. Just wondering if I'll be able to keep up with traffic if the need rises

Well lets put it this way..my lil KZ440 does 85 easy with me on it..im 6'4 and 260lbs. I dont think you will have any probs whatsoever with 110 more ccs and prolly weighing half of me.

*EDIT* Well...lets not say it does it easy...its wound out and screaming like a banshee..but it will do it damnit!! lol

                    LMAO

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do the 550/650 conversion. Then probably bore the 650 jugs to accept the 750 pistons. So for right now I'm gonna start collecting parts. If I follow Brveagle's lead I'll end up with a 740cc bike. Not bad I think

Thats for sure a decent amount of ponies....Im looking into the Wiseco bore kit for mine at some point. 500 bucks for just the parts, let alone the boring ill have to have done. So its a future thing...for now im going to get this head i just bought cleaned up and in ready to go condition, then swap it out this spring. Then turn around and do the same to the other head, so ill have two heads in great shape..i figure besides the piston rings, those will be the first thing to give me big problems. Im *almost* dead set on painting the whole engine black...ive seen a couple others and man it just looks wicked.

speaking off that lil KZ...heres a pic of it...Its completely unmolested at the moment. Dunno if ill keep her that way or get giddy and attempt a cafe on her too...

Yeah the way I figure if I do it all on a budget conscience I can get the conversion done pretty cheap. I'm trying to think of all the parts I'm gonna need so I can have everything ready to go when I start doing the conversion. I don't want to get caught with my pants down in the middle of everything.

Man thats a nice looking bike. I really like those Yammies. I think they look better then the GS's but shh don't tell other people. Those tanks look nice with that little curve downwards that it looks like it does

Thats my lil Kawasaki..i dont have a pic of the yammie at the moment i dont think..i'll have to take a couple.

Personaly i dont think THAT particular Kawi looks better than a GS...

However...THIS Kawasaki is MY personal dream bike

Doesnt that motor design look slightly familiar?? Keep in mind THIS particular bike is from 1974...Three years before the GS saw the States..
