Lee, that is one sweet piece of steel. Kudos to you, sirrah. It's helping me with my mental picture for my next project....

Got a question for you - with a instrument gauge that small, would it look decent with the gauge mounted on one side of the handlebars? Maybe in front of the brake resevoir... That way you'd have nothing at all disturbing the view over the top.

Thanks! I think your idea about mounting it to the bars would work. Being black and so small, it would really blend in well with a black handlebar and the black controls. That's a good idea!

What did you do with that gruesome tangle of wires that normally run into the headlight bucket and up to the guage cluster?

There's still a tangle of wires heading into the headlight bucket. They're just kind of hidden in the photos. The Acewell doesn't use that many wires...just five or so. Its super simple to wire up, too.

Thanks for the info, I think I will be ordering one of these as my Christmas present to myself this year. Which model do you have?

I used these universal clocks on my cafe racer. Relocated the ignition onto the tank using a Honda Dax igniton barrel with a relay.

              Quite neat I think..........

One was from E-bay, the other from these guys:

Busters motorcycle Accessories - More than 70,000 parts and motor oil all top brands like Yamaha + Kawasaki + Suzuki + Honda + BMW + Aprilia. Directly from the shop, good and cheap

                  or

Bear in mind im in England so they may be a little trickier for you to get hold of. These guys must ship overseas though.

The clocks are made in China. Just take care you get the rate ratio for the Tacho etc.

They don't seem to list the white faced ones on their website but they should be able to order them..

Monkeystew, pretty trick setup you got there. I especially like where you mounted the dummy lights. Very cool indeed

Maybe I'm missing it. Where are the dummy lights?

The gauges on my Sportster had gone yellow and unreadable, so I just took them off.....
No gauges at all looks clean....use your ears for the tach and your eyes for the speedo....

I agree, but it's illegal 'round these parts.

It's NY. They care about EVERYTHING.

They even get uppity about my "escort elimination service".
