i want to clean my gs850gd tankand decals. what i mean by tank is paint on the outside and decals are the metal suzukis that go on either side of the tank. any suggestions?

What needs to be cleaned, and why are you cleaning it? It's easy to unscrew the Suzuki insignias on the tank. Take them off and clean them separately. Are you wanting to repaint the tank? Be more specific. -
clean the decals like make them shiny and clean the tank like wash it.can i just use window cleaner like windex, because i dont know if i have any car wash suds. im cleaning it because its been in a garage for 16 years.Last edited by Guest; 12-05-2007, 08:05 PM.Comment

Some Dawn would work..will get the grime off it and be gentle to the paint. For that badge if its real metal i would advise cleaning it up with some metal polish, or if you have the means, take a polishing wheel to it.Comment

the decals also have some black paint in between the letters and the black paint has white-greenish stuff on it. i tried washing it off but it is still there.Comment

Well that could be some old wax or polish, or it could be some mildew. Try soaking it in some water with a bit of dawn or a mild soap in it, or maybe some diluted simple green.Comment
