    I want spoked rims on my 81 750L

    Has anyone came across spoked rims on a 750?
    I want to swap my stock rims out with a set of spoked rims and thought I might get some advice on doing this.
    I have chain drive and disk brake on the rear and dual disc on the front.
    Thinking of going with a slight bit smaller rim on the rear.
    Anyone know of a stock swap (Different model/year/manufacturer) or rim type and what sizes would work??

    Not much help on the techie side right now, but I thought I would throw you a pic of my 1000 with the spokes. I love the look. It was this way when I bought it, and I am very happy with them. Not sure of brand, but they are nice aluminum rims.

      I am a spoke wheel junkie...love em. It might be a tiny bit tricky to put spokes on that particular bike..but not a big chore. Finding them on the other hand might be a trick. I know Z1Enterprises sells some nice alloy rims, not sure about the laces, and you'd have to find Zook hubs, or risk having to do some mods such as caliper brackets to make some Kawi hubs work. Dunno for sure on that.

          Well in all honesty, your best bet would be to keep an eye out on Fleabay for some Zook spoke rims. That is if i havent snatched them up already :P BUT you will have to use your stock rotors, as the only spokes that came stock on the 750 were the 77 "B" (like mine) and for a short time the 78. At some point durring 78 they swapped to the cast wheels. The problem, will be that the 77 came only with single sided front disc. obviously your bike has dual disc. the single disc was a bit larger, but there are mounting holes for BOTH discs on the spoked rim hubs. Usually there is a plastic hub cover on the other side, that can be removed. The bolt pattern from the newer discs SHOULD be the same, but dont quote me on that. Then you can use your stock caliper set up, and all should be good. You will most likely have to use some wheel spacers, or perhaps even a different axle.

            Well, looks like I may have some modifications on my to do list!!
            I REALLY would prefer a set of spokes. The stock rims look good on the regular GS models, but the L models like mine are just so begging to be turned into a chopper/bobber. and the spoke rims are the way to go
            Just my .02
            I will keep my eyes open for some of the stuff you mentioned.
