82 hardtail

i would like to convert my 82gs 650 into a hardtail chopper style bike i would also like to convert it over to a kick start to give it that bare bonned look.[/list]

The only way to get a kickstart onto your bike is to find an earlier model engine with the kickstart on it and swap the cases etc.
As to the hardtail look have you ever riden one? it may look cool 8O but it is murder on your back, and IMHO is a total waste of a good motorcycle.

Just my two cents worth, but if you want a japenese harley buy one.( suzuki intruder,kawasaki vulcan,honda shadow,) It will look as good or better, but it will ride ten times nicer.
