Made a 1 piece rear fender to replace the original 2 piece.

Need to find a piece of rubber to put at the front of the fender near the bottom against the swingarm and protect the battery compartment. *Maybe* this week I can get the seat made. It was delayed until I could get the new rear inner fender in place since the old one was not quite right and the tail wasn't exactly in its final position.

Coming soon - the Acewell gauge and a new bezel for the gear position indicators.

Nice bike StrtLegal. It must go fast, the rear licence plate has melted.

                      StrtLegal,
                      VERY cool.

Ggreenfield: got any recent pics...I'm diggin' your work. Any thoughts of suspension mods after the seat conversion?

Well it's been a busy time here lately but I did finally manage to get the seat pan made.

                        More photos here:

                        http://picasaweb.google.com/glenn.gr...81SuzukiGS750E

Building the pan wasn't too terribly difficult once we decided how to go about it. It's actually made from 3 pieces of aluminum. If I had it to do over I'd do it out of one single piece.

Still undecided if I'll cover the seat and the forward tail section (I guess that's what it's called) entirely or paint the complete tail in one color. The aluminum isn't too far away from paint. Either way I think some door-guard around the edge would be a good way to sort of seal it up (at least a little more than it is). Or perhaps I could fit a gasket inside the joint.

The backrest will be curved and I'm trying to visualize a mold for the seat. That lump of vinyl over foam is still the same temporary seat i've been riding on all year.

It's pretty comfortable to ride and nice to have something to hold my heavy backpack which just sits on the tail and rests most of its weight there.

The latch works quite well and really snugs the seat pan up tight.
More photos of the seat pan off the bike to follow.

Justin - thanks for all the welding!

heres how mine came out, got the bike for 350, stock with a few mods last winter off craigslist, spent another 300 on ebay parts and paint, and heres the final. Not bad for a total cost of 650.

Some bar-end mirrors would really finish it off nicely.

                              Cheers

That blue is absolutely stunning! What color is it and where did you get it? How exactly did you do the stripes? Nice looking bike.
