      polished bits

      Guys,
There is a clear that stands the test of time....called powder coat....doing a "resto" on my old buddy.....I have a 1979 that i used the entire front system from an 80 model calipers and rotors. These units as you may know are forged, and I used a file and grinders to remove the casting marks...smoothed them all out then clear coated. It has held up far better than I had expected, although I wasn't looking for a shiny finnish more a brush finnish,I also have the system full of Valvolines Synthetic brake fluid....it is universal...mixes with everything{cept silicone that will bugger up all rubber bits, been there done that once} and has the high temp rating of silicone too, and is readily available at Advance Auto Parts and Wally World too.....
