My exhaust is a Vance and Hines, for the record.
Is it just me, or on that website are they patching a brakepad!

That's definitely a brake pad. Funny thing is, when viewing the data sheet, they claim that it's just a machine part. True in theory, bad in practice. I'd never do that in the name of safety.

high temp epoxy only. don't use a glue gun. this is akin to using drywall screws to hold your carbs together :-D

McMaster-Carr is the complete source for your plant with over 595,000 products. 98% of products ordered ship from stock and deliver same or next day.

search "high temp epoxy". only use a 2 part adhesive for this application.

I emailed Vance and Hines. Here's what they replied:

All you need is some high temp silicone sealant. Smear some evenly on the back and put it on. You can get this through your local auto parts store.

Now to get some denatured alcohol to get the glue off my muffler

V&H should send you a tube of silicone. Brand new pipe.
What the heck's wrong with them?:?
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't really like the flippant way that they just dismissed you.

Ditto. With it being brand new, sending a tube of whatever it is they're glueing them on with should be the least they do.

Just got off the phone with them a few minutes ago and they said no

Oh well, it seems I am stick. I guess I will go to the store and take care of it. That is a real bummer. The quality of the rest of the pipe seems really good, but I guess you can't expect any support from them.

That just stinks! This shouldn't be your problem.

                        Call Them!

I can believe they will not help you. I think you may have better luck if you speak to an individual - its easy to blow someone off in an email.

I called them up last year trying to by an emblem for my older V&H megaphone. I brought the pipe on ebay and it was long gone. They sent one free of charge, shipped it for free, and put 4-5 10" stickers in the box. Needless to say I was thrilled and alway speak highly of their customer service.

                        Good luck man!

                          Byrdman,
That's what I tried to do. I called them and talked to an individual. He was nice but said there was nothing they could do. On a plus not I got the glue from the hot glue I used off easily without any chemicals. Tomorrow I will try to obtain the silicone adhesive.

Jeez. At least this isn't a major issue to fix. The silicone WILL work.
It kind of amazes me they won't send or spring for a tube of silicone when they sent you what is a defective product.
Kind of sticks in my craw thinking how I've recommended them over the years. But as you just read, they also do good things for a customer.
Maybe you just reached a jerk off that day. Because his answer is BS.

Take the Vance & Hines off, they don't deserve the free advertising.

Make one that says, Homer Simpson or something.
