    Fabricating a sissy bar ?

Has anyone tried mounting one on the seat in place of the grab bar? I'm thinking a low one maybe a foot above the seat something that looks cool. Or would this put too much stress on the seat pan?

on basscliff's site, there is a luggage rack fab thingy. might be able to adapt a sissy bar to it.

I made the one on my bike, not perfect but works for my needs.

I used a piece of aluminum from lowes, bent it to the shape i wanted using a torch and a homemade jig out of some scrap wood and my 5lb hammer handle for the turning radius. Its bolted onto the grab bar sides using stainless steel eye hooks, gives my sissy bar bag something to tie onto as well as a good spot to attach cords for a bag or something.

The backrest I made out of a piece of plywood cut to shape, solid foam cut to shape and some old leather I had from a bag... not the best but all free.

Anyways, mine cost me about $40 in the supplies and hardware.

Thanks, these are giving me some good ideas. I was thinking of building it out of 1/2" square stock. I have access to chopsaws and welders so I can cut and fit as needed once I come up with a plan.
