I think mine use to be black, or dark blue. Not sure as the only picture I have of it before the paint job is in black and white. -
I know I commented in your thread for this, but ill say it again. I love it. The 1150 front really transforms the look.

Just got this 82 GS850 not to long ago for a trade for my broke down 03 ninja. Painted the tank and rear wheel fender. Next short termtasks will be new header wrap(should i go with the off white or black wrap?), dark brown leather seat, black drag handle bar, and re spray the frame and engine covers. Ignore the red dust on the back, it is from sanding down some filler on the fender

That looks cool!
bringing the rear of the tank up "minimizes" the L look!
For your next harness just use tin plated marine wire, it will save extra steps to make it corrosion proof.
