For right now, solid struts. Pic was to verify length before I start weldin them up. Yours is lookin sweeet by the way Richaar. I would love to do an actual hardtail, but this was a $30 craigslist find and so I'm buildin it on the CHEAP, as in $500 budget. Tryin to build it using the cheapest methods available. We seem to think alike on that aspect, ie yur sissy bar, "oil tank", good stuff, keep it up man. Still got some grindin to do on the frame before prime amd paint, then forwards from son's stunt pegs off his bmx bike... Yeah, I'm cheap.

what about just doing a cheap hardtail, the top 2 legs and using the swingarm as the bottom. shouldn't cost more than $30 in material
best one I could find

Y'know theyre your bikes, and you do what you want, but I really wish this cutting up of perfectly good bikes would stop.
Its not like theyre making more of these every day.

its the 80 and 70's, lots left. now if it was a 60's id think twice about chopping them.
i got an idea, lets just put these bikes in the back yard or garage to get REAL old and rusty then try to sell em

These bikes were designed and sold as transportation back in the day and were produced by the tens of thousands, rare, nah, not so much. For those of you appreciate the work and time involved in altering any stock vehichle, I raise my frosty 12 oz. and solute you, keep the pics and suggestions coming.

You very well might end up making something very interesting and well-made, but the odds lean towards welding the back end tight, cutting off the exhaust, painting it flat black, using a leather throw pillow as a seat, and the whole now-destroyed mess looking like complete sh*t.
Sorry to crap on your thread. Good luck.
