Don't have any, but as an auto parts guy i can tell you a couple things. you asked if they are bright enough, that depends on what you consider to be bright enough. to be sold as a commercial turn signal replacement they have to meat certain DOT requirements, which means they have to be "bright enough". As for the bulb replacement type LED lights, they are usually designed to replace 1157, 3057, or 3157 bulbs which is all fine and good. however, i've noticed that in most motorcycle applications, the standard bulbs are mounted sideways, i.e. top of bulb pointing to left and right. most of the LED "bulbs" that i've seen only emit light directly away from the socket, which means it would be pointing left and right, not rearward and foreward. it's up to you, but if it were me, i'd go with the complete turn signal assemblies if your going to go LED.

Paul has some good points. As a fellow parts guy (Mercedes), and a rider, be sure they're not made of plastic. I bought some a few months ago on ebay to mod my sons bike and the plastic ones didnt last a month. 2 of them stripped out trying to tighten them onto the mounting points, 1 broke right off from him not hiking his leg up and over, and the bulb in the 4th one started to melt the plastic arounf\d the socket, because it wasn't made straight.

Gotta love that made-in-China junk! I have seen LED 1156 replacements that were amber
(the only kind that will pass through amber lenses) and side firing for turn signals that have the bulb oriented that way. I can't remember if they were Ledtronics or Dr.LED. At least on the older GS turn signals, the end-firing ones are what we need. And get an electronic flasher from an auto parts store; the ballast resistors some sell are ridiculous! It gets rid of one advantage of LEDs, low current draw, as the resistors draw enough current to trigger a mechanical flasher, and the resistors get HOT enough to melt and burn wires, plastic lenses, or anything else that will melt.1979 GS 1000

But the front firing ones will actually produce a less visible light due to the lack of light dispersion inherent in the LEDs.
You need a LED bulb like this to replace the incandescent bulb:
Or you can go the route I did and get a nice 3" LED turn signal replacement:
Both will do well for you, but I suggest staying away from any LED replacement bulb that looks like this:
Also, do you have a single turn signal indicator lamp or two? If you only have one, you will need the resistors for sure, if you have two, then the electronic flasher should get you up and running.Last edited by Guest; 09-13-2008, 03:34 PM.

I've got signals off of a buell. Fairly cheap at a harley dealer. Had to remove the amber lenses and replace with large amber bulbs to get the flasher to work right. Nice smoke lenses, I like them.
