    Week 5 ( spacing issues )

In the process of converting my rear on my GS 1100E to a Bandit 180 wheel and swingarm. The problem I had was the 530 chain rubbing on the shock when it lined up with the front. The only way I could get it to clear without worries was to add 4mm of spacing to the sprocket side. Sounds easy enough.....nope..the space between the bandit swinger allows for 10mm of spacing, so adding 4mm on one side means taking 4mm from the brake side and removing 4mm fron the front spacer. This can be done but it moves the rear wheel over 4mm out of align with the front. (not acceptable). I decided to scrap the 530 conversion and go with a 520 and a more narrow rear. Rob ( Katman ) Wilton hooked me up with a killer 520 rear sprocket and a custom front..should have it soon. The front is coming along as well...waiting on parts (always). should have some more pics later next week.
Working...
