Ha now that's playin with power, cool link.

I think every bike should have a gatling gun! although i have seriously considered putting rocket launchers on my bike, but other than july 4rth no real use for rockets without a targeting system........now that's an idea!

Just got back so i'll be able to make progress on the hard bags.

Recieved the second large box while i was away, so i'll be welding the mounts to it then sanding all the boxes to prep them for paint. Then it's onto the locking mechanism utilizing the helmut locks.

      Stay tuned.

        Update

I managed to get the mounts for the second large ammo box welded up and mounted the boxes.

When on the side stand leaned over i have about 2/12 to 3 inches of space from the bottom of the box to the ground about 30 to 35 degrees of lean will be max so high speed twisties may be out of the question with the large boxes mounted.

Center of graivity isn't affected too bad since the boxes are much lower on the frame than Pannier or other set ups so this is a plus in handling well.

Now i can start prepping the boxes with primer for paint, i'll be going with Bahama Blue by Dupli Color since another member on this site was nice enough to post that this color comes closest to the factory blue color used on the these models. I may do a two tone white and blue or just all blue, haven't decided yet.

I'll post pics tomorrow to photobucket of the large boxes on.

Ok finally got the large bags mounted to take some new pics. More at my photobucket link in my signature, but you can see how it looks in proportion to the bikes lines.

Still gotta figure out locks and start prepping for paint.

This shot below shows the small boxes mounted for reference.

What is that on the right side of your fairing?

On the right side just below the cowling is a Wolo Bad Boy 132 decibal air horn purchased at Harbor Freight it is LOUD!

Mounted to a sheet steel plate i cut to the contour below the cowling, i'll be making a cover for it once i am ready to do the body work to mount an aftermarket fiberglass full fairing that will cover the engine and headers. Similiar to the export GSX and F models.

There is available an air scoop that is like the factory one but this will be too big once i mount the lower full fairing. I will have to do a bit of plastic welding to repair the cracks so body work is last on the list after the mechanicals and crash bars/ case savers i'll be fabricating.

As well as custom handle bar extensions i'll be fabricating from 12 guage DOM tubular steel to raise the handle bars, allowing for a more comfortable riding position.

Now that you've spent all this time and effort putting them all together...I'll give you $100 for the mounting frame and both cases!!!!

SOLD! i can then buy a new reflector ( actually i'll be mocking up a rear trunk for helmut storage so the reflector will be replaced with a side marker light, don't really like the trunks that are out there they look like they belong on scooters )

I have two questions as I figure the air horn that is on the side of your fairing answers the previous question.

                      1. Do those big boxes hang behind your megaphones or outside them?

                      2. Where will you mount your signal lights?

1-In the pics i posted on photobucket it shows how i fabricated turn downs, i bought 1 5/8 OD muffler tubing mandrel bent 180 degrees. Cut it in half and made and welded exhaust turn downs so the exhaust flows down when the big boxes are mounted.
It actually sounds slighty throaty and doesn't have that high pitched wine.

2-It did not have the stock signal lights, as a stop gap measure i bought cheap bullet marker lights to use as signal lights. These marker lights mount in the stock location and because they have a small " L " bracket clearance is not a problem.

I may change this however i still haven't decided though. It may show in the pics on photobucket how the lights look but not with the boxes mounted yet.

Spent the afternoon getting the blue matched up at a local auto paint supply.

I went with Valspar urethane base coat/clear coat because i'll be painting the bike in the near spring so i wanted all the paint to be the same shade and be more durable than the bahama blue by dupli color i originally was going to use for the boxes.

The codes i picked up at alpha-sports was no good,

it did not come up on their computer system, so i wound up going with the closest match which is a metallic blue cobalt by suzuki code Z3W.

Dressed the welds that will be visible from the outside on the frame, sprayed with metal etching primer and finally fill and sand primer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5c5y5pyOmY This link gives some info on Dupli Color primers for those doing their own metal work projects.

Minor filler and glazing putty work needed then final coat of primer and paint of the mounting frame then it's onto the prep on the boxes.

Just looking at the pics again, why wouldn't you mount the bags up a little higher? Say with the top of the box even with the bottom of the seat, at that height they wouldn't bother the passenger. It would be an easy modification to your existing rack, then you could run from your footpeg to the grab rail under the seat.
I see that you have a spot to mount a third box behind the bike, I like that.

can't wait to see the end result...

                                Hmmm...
I like the work you are doing. Not really my style but style is up to the owner. I can't wait entil you are done. NICE work. I like that ALL of these bikes don't look the same.
