Have you seen the axle plates that are sold to replace your stock ones? I think they look much better than the stock ones. If you have someone knowledgeable they may be able to cut a pair out for you and weld them right in where your lower and upper tubing are supposed to meet at the rear axle.
Just wondering, have you went to www.thechopperunderground.com yet?
TONS of info on what you're project needs!!!

Hey bud what kinda tubing did he use?Hopefully not just black iron pipe.Black pipe cannot handle the stress that a hardtail endures. Please use dom tubing.Im also a member at CU.U will get answers to all the questions you may have.

Chop job
I have to agree with a few others here. Tear that rear end off and start over. Your wheel mounts are too far back from the vee of the rear of the frame. Your hardtail weld on isn't gusseted properly. the lower part of the hard tail needs to be welded to the bottom of the frame under the motor. You need to cut further up the frame right behind the motor. Do away with the bracing there and go from that point. Build a new veritical brace to tie back bone , hardtail and lower frame together properly. Note where we started with the new part of the frame. have pic posted in show you custom bike thread

Fially made it up to my friends bike shop in north Carolina. He didn't like the rear end so we started all over again this time we are starting at the backbone and under the engine. We cut all of the metal yesterday and tacked it in place I will post some pics soon.

Here is the final of the bike still have a fuew things to finish up. I would have posted progress pics but I dont know how to post full size pictures on this site. We finished today but after finishing wiring and trying to start the bike we realized that the band new ignition from the store didnt work. We did get the bike started and it souns awsome. I will post more pics of how we did the frame if anyone wants to see them. I can also show the wiring if anyone wants. We ended up just cutting the stock harness out of the bike and starting new. WOW that was quite a project from parts in a box to a complete bike in 4days. We did all of the work at my friends shop in North Carolina Combat Cycles.

front fender needs something. Trimmed down or thrown away maybe. Otherwise, that's more like it, I was worried about you for a minute. LOL Four days is amazing! Definitly post pics of the frame. Oh and congrats. I know the feeling I got mine running today.
