Looking good. Great way to mount the tank. Its always a fight to either make something very cool or hide it. I like that you went very cool.

I am working on it. My mom was having car trouble with both her vehicles and it involved pulling out a tranny while laying on the ground, yea fun stuff. I need to fix the kickstand and exhaust clearance issue and then it is time to take it apart.Originally posted by Richharr View PostI need more...

With the two down tubes I felt that I needed to use both tubes. I thought this design made the tank flow more into the frame and the overall lines of the bike.Originally posted by Hammered View PostLooking good. Great way to mount the tank. Except that single backbone is i would guess 3inch by 3inch BOXED tube instead of our flimsy 1.5? inch backbone... at any rate I digress, but i also like to see that EXTRA bracing you put in as well...BRAVO so far sir.. Keep up that thought process, and youll have a rather stunning custom. Not my thing, but I respect a job well done, and the brains and vision behind it

Im running a single backbone. When done right, its stronger than the stock. I decided to go single to be able to add to the capacity of my fuel tank without it looking as if the tank had been stretched or raised.

I may steal your idea for mounting the front as a way to mount mine at the rear. I decided to keep the rubber mounts in the front.

why don't they start using 3" boxed tubing in sanctioned race roll cages? and get rid of flimsy .188" or .250" wall DOM and CROMO tubing.

This bike makes me want to ride to a post apocalyptic roadhouse and crack a mutant in the face with a pool cue.
That is a good thing.

No badges. I am going to keep the paint simple more out of necessity, $$$ issues. I really just want to ride this thing. I wish I could afford powdercoat but I got a quote of $300 for the frame, retarded! I have plans on building an oven, just not in the plans now. I dig the green military look of your bike. I am ex-military and I gravitate towards that. Any ideas?Originally posted by Richharr View Postso you can make a cage out of straws and it will pass, lets say scca tech? back to an awesome build, what are your paint plans? are you keeping badges on the tank, since the tabs are still there

Tried to check your photobucket to see the diagrams, no dice. Post links on this site maybe?

In Colorado's thread the elec. ign. diagram is posted and another member redrew it on computer. That one is easier to read. It super easy to do but time consuming. Solder your connections don't crimp. Looks better and is way more reliable of a joint. If your real patient and take your time all the wires will flow together into neat little bundles.

$300 is right for powder coating a frame. you could spraybomb it and ride it until the weather sucks, break it down and powder it.

Odds are I am going to spray bomb it for the time being. Then when I get the chance I can build the oven. The funny thing is that $300 is about what it will cost to built the oven.Originally posted by Richharr View Post$300 is right for powder coating a frame. you could spraybomb it and ride it until the weather sucks, break it down and powder it.
