No, not those kinds of rubbers -- I mean all the assorted rubber bits and pieces and bumpers and cushions and grommets scattered throughout your GS. A surprising number of these are still available from Suzuki.
For example, side cover grommets could save you a lost side cover someday, and are maybe a buck fiddy each.
Set aside $50 and go nuts -- seat cushions, center stand cushions, exhaust grommets, instrument mounting cushions, tank mounting cushions, shift lever rubber, etc. Don't forget the various fuel and vacuum hoses, too. Or, just throw a few in every time you order Suzuki parts.
Soon, your bike will feel and sound much newer. Fewer rattles and clunks. Not as much stuff falling off. It's the little things.
Best time I've spent so far. I was coming really close to buying something newer lately, but this just added new life to a motorcycle that's a quarter-century old.
$50 modification? Saved me damned-near $5000.

for all you posers out there, (like me). cheapest trendy mod available is a window ignition cover. about £3 for the acrylic cover, couple of quid for the bolts.
a dremmel and a drill and tap is required of course.
then if you wanna be real flash polish up the insides and add a few bright LED's to flash it up at night

under 50 bucks
Why does every one sand of the old clear.............. When I took of my covers to do gaskets back in 08, I sprayed my valve cover with paint stripper ' autozone ' and all my aluminum covers ,only takes a couple seconds. It blowes off with hose.Spray alot of water! Cost? How much is 3 hours of sanding worth.Polish with semichrome. I also think semichrome would help the muriatic acid finish.25 years detailing autos, boats Ive learned a few things. also WHY are all these beautifull Bikes have scratched Engine Emblems? thier only $16.00 a side OEM.Well under 50.00 as started 2years ago.

Drilled five 1/4" holes along the marked center line of the levers, then cut off the ball ends and countersink the holes. Still need to sand em' up a bit for that brushed look and a coat of matte clear from the ol' rattle can.

and cutting through the boot all the way down to just past your ankle to the ball of your foot at 5 mph crash
on a dirt bike, resulting in 56 stitches after you lose a pint or so of blood on the 17 mile ride
(how else are you going to get there?) back to civilization for a ride in a car, to the hospital where you pass out due to loss of blood.
Just something that I heard...
