    extended swing arm?

Anybody know how to get an extended swingarm for a 1980 gs750e? I have seen pictures of a couple of gs's with them & I like. Do they have to be custom made or what are my options? Hope this is the correct forum. Sorry if it is'nt!

I know a local guy that has one I think.. PM me if you want me drop by and find out what he wants for it.

I think he's got a round steel one about +6" and another older chrome one.

I am currently fitting an 1100 swinger on my 750.
It's about three inches longer and weighs less than half that of the stock unit.
All you need is to drill the holes in the frame out to accept a larger diameter bolt and either come up with some spacers for the rear wheel or take the opportunity to upgrade to a wider wheel. I'm told by the very knowledgeable guy I got the swinger from that you can go as big as a 180 tire this way. I figure if need a longer swingarm, a bigger tire won't hurt either right?

Im working on a '80 GS750 that I plan to stretch the swingarm. Its just a matter of cutting in the right place (just behind the swingarm pivot) and using an internal sleeve. Drill a few plug holes for welding and leave roughly 1/8" gap between the pieces to allow for a better penatration of the welds. As soon as I get a new cash flow in, Ill start on that and post up.
