    those with chopped front fenders

My finder was jacked up by a PO. I put a new tire on the front and it rubs. (it scared me at first. thought it was the trany and it stunk too.) Well I've been running w/o one and it's been fine. Until now I ran through a puddle twice and I would like to have it back. I think I can see where it was rubbing and I think chopping it would fix it. BUT if I chop it how much can I chop and keep the water out of my face?

    I see two choices:
One- Chop and go find a puddle your fender already rubs, right.
Two- Hammer bondo paint no chop no worry

Well if I could just get those who have already chopped their front fender and ran through puddles they can report and say this does or does not work.

I chopped the front fender on my 77 750 about 4 inches in the back and about three up front. Rode in the rain all day last October with no problems from water flying up from the front tire.

I would tend to believe you could chop it pretty far. My buddies bike is fenderless in front and if he has to ride in the rain he uses a bandana across the front forks to cut the spray and says he has no problems. I'll probably see how well this theory works after i get my fork brace and pull the fender this year.
