    sealed beam headlight questions

anyone know if i can use the silverstar round headlights on my bike 82 850?

they look to be close to if not the same size cause i have 2 laying around that are brand new from my 72 F100 truck and i dont want them to just sit around.

Try and see. The 850 headlamp is 7" I think.

The headlamps in the 850 are indeed 7". I bought replacement lamp fixtures that let me replace just the bulb instead of the whole unit. They were about $30 a pair at a truck accessory shop here that specializes in off road gear. This gives me way more options in regards to what bulb I can use and its much easier to carry a spare should the need arise, which reminds me: I have heard that the Silverstar bulbs can quit if you hit a good bump in the road. I haven't had any problems with mine yet, and they do work so much better than the stock light even at the same wattage. A good upgrade if you can make it work IMHO.

My 850's Silverstar is on its third or fourth season of blasting along crappy roads at warp speed.

So no, I don't think they're any more vulnerable to vibration and shock than any other bulb.
