new seat for a 550t

just started a rebuild on a 550t and saw that my seat pan is rusted through but dont like the look of it anyway, are there any good harley matchups? thanks ya'll -sam

Your best bet would be ebay, craigslist, local junkyard, or perhaps the "Parts Wanted" section of this forum. If you can find a good seat pan, the rest is pretty easy.

A lot of riders have also fabricated their own. Do you work with fiberglass or sheet metal?

ya i work alot with sheet metal its just the upholstery that might drive me insane. do you know if any of the harley models seats will fit good? becauseid rather spend 50$ than try to make my own... a couple times

If you can fabricate a seat pan, I've heard of upholstery shops that can build seat for a reasonable amount of $$.

And, you know, I did see a picture here on the forum recently of a GS with a Harley seat, but I can't find it. It looked OK. I don't remember whose bike it was. Sorry.
