    help me identify this customization

There is this video of a suzuki 550 overseas on youtube. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap_HN3IEuCw

I'd like mine to look a little like this. Can some of you guys help point out some of the mods that are on this bike? Is it even a suzuki? It looks like an aftermarket tank and obviously the headlight cluster is not stock. I like the seats that are on there but was this bike chopped to get them to fit? Anyone know the year of this bike? Mine's an 81' and I'd like to get this kind of a look for it. Any help is appreciated.

Just looks like a set of 4 out pipes, tank looks like my GS750 before cutting it and Id say the seat is a Mustang style with P pad. Rear fender and light are Harley styled. Not that much to do to get that look. Mostly Bolt on stuff from what I can see.

Harley wanna-be via some bolt ons. Rear fender, driving lights, seat/p-pad... Not bad if ya like the style but you'd lose it at bike night. Kinda blends in w/ every other cruiser these days.

It's not that I want it to look bad, but I'm new at making modifications and I'm looking for some ideas for this bike and this was the first that I saw that was a lot different looking than stock.

no one wants their bike to look bad, and if you like that look go for it. It's only nuts and bolts. No real complex fabrication from the looks of things.

I can't identify the tank. It's not a 80 750 because the gas fill hole is off-center, and it has a bit different shape. The side covers are not stock either.

The tank from an 82 has the filler offcenter which is what I have on my 80.Could also be that since its an overseas model, the styling could be just that different in the tank and side tins.

                Opps my bad, Mustang tank.

Theres been some work on the backbone to fit what appears to be a Mustang style tank from a HArley. Which may be what the Side tins are too.

Look i n the post your custom thread on the appearance mods part of the forum. There are a LOT better looking bikes. Or just read some of the posts in appearance mods to see what some others are doing.

Ok so I just went through 59 pages of customs on the appearance mod site and I'd say 80% are early superbikes and the other 20% are either cafe racers or stock with some minor changes. I'm really looking for something to make my 81' 550L a little more custom, cruisier and if they're bolt-ons then so be it. I'm not interested in stretching or raking just some ideas. I didn't see anything on here with a similar model of my bike. Anyone got any pics of early 80's "L" bikes that are done-up???

Thanks. Its a budget build that may take forever, but Im having fun doing it. For a more customizer atmosphere, you may wanna visit a couple of the forums I haunt. the chopper underground and thechopperfix. Theres some great guys there that can head toward customizing your bike while here, you will find all the dirt on the GSs, parts, upgrades and the such. Use both to their fullest and remember, its only stupid if you dont ask.
