    Learn from stupid! Only $19.95

    just kidding this lesson is free. Well for you guys, cost me a brand spankin new muffler. Wasnt sure where to put the post so here go's.
    For my friends out there chopping up and ruining these once perfect vehicles, pay attention to your battery. I had crap all over my muffler and when I went to clean it up it wouldn't go away. Then I noticed that the finish was gone then I looked up and saw corrosion on my brand new battery strap! I quit looking after that. I guess when I hit big bumps acid is spilling out the vent, from the looks of it. I've been scouring my garage for the little hose for weeks now, to no avail. Guess I should have went and bought one sooner. So bummed.....
    So run those silly hoses that come with the battery or get a dry cell.

    Excellent point!

    The sealed batteries work better and last longer, but even if they didn't, they're well worth the few extra bucks simply because they can't spill acid all over your bike.

    Sorry about your muffler...

      JC whitney sells an plastic tube type tank that comes with a hose i think it's 10.00 bucks, seems worth it not to have that hose dangling spilling acid on your frame or rear tire.

      But definetly a sealed gel cell is the way to go next time for me!

        dry cell is for sure on rigid. I found out the same way you did, except even with the tube, the acid marked up my rear wheel. Also found out if it is spilling out that much it is probably overfilled

          Overcharging in my case also caused this problem, since solved it by wiring the sensor wire form the R/R to the battery-problem solved!

            We should ask Mr. Duaneage if this causes a constant draw on your battery.

            I believe his instructions state to splice the sense wire into a switched wire (key off-wire off).

              Yeah that's how I thought the sense wire worked as well. Should have some dough for a dry cell in a few days and never worry again.

                AGM battery from the Hayabusa was used when mocking up the cowl for my cafe project. Smaller, not sensitive to position and more powerful than the original from the GS650. I also knew exactly what to buy when I was ready to finish it. Worked for me . . . .
