    More cafe progress

I am about 80% there still working out some small details. The main things left are to cover and pad the seat pan, new rubber on the spoked rims and install them, and then a good final clean and detail touch up and final paint and just make it look clean. I rode it to work yesterday and even with just the stainless steel seat pan not covered yet it felt very comfortable for me. I am now debating on a different style gas tank maybe late 70s GS1K.
Things keep progressing and changing as I go but I'm almost where I want to be.....until next year and then its getting a turbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this before but here is how it started

    Here it is so far

Looks good. Might just be me but I think you could stand to pull the forks up in the triples a little more to lower the front end.

I agree but that is far as they will go because the clubmans go right over the fork tube cap and hit. I actually added a bar riser once to give me more clearance but it looked silly.

I can see the interference now. Looks great though.

I bought the clubmans off of ebay. I have tailored this bike to fit me at 6'5 and around 290ish I am comfortable for about an hour to an hour and a half and then I need to take a 10 min. break or so. If you are short or have short arms it probably would not be that comfortable. My friends (mostly under 6') have sat on it and it is a real stretch for them just to reach the bars.

haha, yeah i'm like 5'8" lol
that stuff is good to know. now would you say that its hard to reach the bars because of the make of the bars, or because of the other mods you have done?

I would say its a healthy mix. With the seat lower it really puts you in a farther back position. When I first put the clubmans on with factory seat it wasnt bad at all. But it definitely put in a forward position.

                    groovy man,
I'm a big cafe racer/naked bike guy, if i did clubmans, i'd probably have to build a seat that would position me in a proper position.

Hey Man, bike looks great. I'm slowing aquiring the parts to do a similar project with a GS1100 that I own. Hope to get it off the ground soon. How do you feel about the stock location of pegs, are they comfortable?

Not real sure yet. I have had the clubmans on there for a year now and I probably put about 10K on it last year everything seemed okay comfort wise but I have been giving some rear sets some thought. I will see after getting the seat all done and putting in some saddle time. I will keep you posted.
