Way too accent the secondary/pinstripe color

I have the common black/gold stripe color scheme on my 650g. I have alot on my "to do" list for this off season cosmetically. Polishing, painting, etc. I plan to keep the stock colors of black and gold.

What are some ways that I can bring that gold out, I can't paint the frame gold (yikes ). What are some other small touches I could do, that would help make the colors stand out better?

Or does anyone have a better color scheme?

How about painting the polished aluminum areas of the rims gold? Just a thought. Nice bike, btw.

Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.

    Present Stable includes:
    '74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
    '83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)
    '82 GS1100G Resto project

      pinstripe

Try laying out the pinstripe differently. I just painted my 1000 and I've been experimenting with different pinstripe layouts. It makes a huge difference. I bought some of that cheap pinstripe at the parts store in a few different colors. Then i'll lay it out a certain way and see how it looks. If I dont like it it comes right off. Once I figure out what I want I'll have somebody paint it on by hand.

I thought about this, but was unsure if it would look tacky or not. Anyone have a way to photoshop this idea for visualization?

Oooh, I would love to - but yeah, probably too pricey for me. The gold bar ends might fly though.

What about just painting the rotors or calipers a goldish color, or even a single thin line around the outside of the wheel?

Honestly, I would polish out the aluminim on the wheels and paint the black inner rim gold to match, then raised white letter the tires maybe. It might be kinda hard to visualize, but cleaning up the wheels would really make it look sharp! I did these myself its time consuming but not hard.

Im thinkin gold where mine are black would set your bike off nicely without going over the edge, also leaving the aluminum with a color match dosn't compromise the integrity of the GS look....Im kinda wishing I would have done mine in Pearl White to match my 700es. Little decals done tastefully can also add to your look.

Good Luck , your bike is a gem!
