oh yeah, dont use your food oven...ever. The stuff will defintly leave your meatloaf tasting a little like plastic... Ya it does stink a bit and smoke too at about the ten minute mark in the oven...but not too bad. For very small things you could buy a used cheap toaster oven... as long as it gets to 194C, or about 375F.

Kilog55 gave me an idea, so can you PC real K&N filters or is it too hot for the paper? Or cloth, whatever they are made out of.

powdercoating is done on metal.. Now there are some low temp powders that some companies have been able to powdercoat MDF board with, but thats about it. If you were to be able to PC the filters... well it would seal them up pretty much... which means no air flow..

probly meant teh chrome ends but since it is gauze and poly im not sure it would hold up under the heat but you could use some 800 grit and adhesion promoter and paint em im sure

OH... well I dont think they are real chrome... as in metal. I think even the K&N ones use the chrome plated plastic... But ya, you could paint em.

                Yaddy,

what did you make your fuel line and breather hoses out of? I am liking those.

                  FYI,
my filter ends are "proper" metal, not chromed plastic. Don't know if they would come off so i don't know how they'd stand the heat of an oven for plaggy coating. Maybe best to paint them if you wanted a colour change?

Searched for the K&N versions but i can't find them in this style, maybe they are NOS if anyone has them for sale? I used to use them many moons back but haven't seen new items for ages.

Those fuel and breather lines are normal "fuel type" rubber hose. The breather tubes have a black braided sleeve on them with heatshrink ends.
The fuel lines have stainless braided sleeves on them, with a clear heatshrink over the top and then black heatshrink ends. I used the heatshrink with glue inside to stick everything to the hose underneath but you could use normal unglued heatshrink i guess. All the items are listed on egay and some internet shops. Bribird put me onto this little mod, i love the detail and i've done all my wiring with it, every cable and even my front hose brackets and speedo cable "hook" too!

Can you remember that link to the braid shop Bribird? I forgot

Ya man, I love the braided hose/line covers.

                    Heres the link...

WireCare is your online wire & cable management superstore. We have what you need for connecting, harnessing, & beautifying all of your electrical projects. We carry the highest quality tools & accessories including Techflex, Deutsch, & Pressmaster.

They make all sorts of colors and sizes. I have dealt with these people of both my bike builds and have even turned my boss onto them for shielded sleeving for some of the conference tables we make when they have integrated comm and power wires in them.

Cool stuff, its just one of those little details thats does so much for cleaning up the look. Although it is a little more time consuming that it would appear..... at least if you are covering everything. Yaddy was making too much progress on his bike, so I figured I would give him a chore that would slow him down a bit.

they look very cool and fit my bike style perfect. I like the oval ones better tbh, but they wouldn't sit well on my build. I'll keep an eye out for some of those if mine prove too hard to set up properly, cheers for the pic.
