    Headlight questions...

Pardon my stupidity... i bought this headlight off the 'bay:
81 gs450L and i need to wire it up to my gs1100GK . (the fairing has the original headlight and wiring, i'm keeping it for the winter)...LOL

So, i gather that if i remove those wire clips i can get the bulb out somehow...correct?

    i need a headlight plug , 3 pin? Right?
where can i get one of these?

(the other end doesnt need a plug cause i'll be splicing in into the GK's wiring harness.)

    thanks
    -Eric

Not to deprive you of the pleasure of meeting TheCafeKid, but you can get a generic hedlight plug at Auto Zone.

Have you measured the two lights? Seems to me that the 450L had a 6" light, the GK would have a 7" light. Also, the light in your picture appears to be a sealed beam, not one that takes an H4 bulb. Make sure everything is gonna fit before you start cutting.

        Ok...

Eric if you find the light ISNT the size you need... i have some 7inchers up here, i think they're even the kind that take removeable bulbs... I also have some more modern options sitting around too..like projector lensed units... Besides, If ya got it running id kinda like to see that GK of yours...is it still for sale?

NOPE ! Sold my other bike to pay off my tax burden...there is just something about this bike that i like...so i'm hoping to keep her. the light i have to get rigged up, i rarely go out at night, but you never know...lights and then a fiberglass seat pan. Hey, she'll never be the prom queen but she's fun to ride and always willing

thanks for the offers, the GS group here in SW ohio is the reason i bought her...i hope to make the Brown County run one of these years!

Steve, i'm de-K-ing this GK ...i'm storing the fairing and fabbing up some brackets for the headlight...i like her without the fairing and bags, still a big smooth ride with plenty of roll on power...any gear, twist the throttle n go...i've come to enjoy that...
