    GS550 - new paint ..

Thanks to the peoples here on the forum I took the plunge over the last couple of weekends and painted by GS550. A few factors which derived the final outcome:
    1. I liked the original blue but not the pin-stripes.
    2. *HATE* the original fuel filler cover so wanted to hide it in a black stripe.
    3. Dropped my ZR550 and scratched the headlight "visor" so painted it and put it on the GS550

Still needs to be final rub back and polished, and put the tank nameplates on, but I'm an impatient person

Just acrylic .. "Spartan" brand I think? (here in Australia)
It was basically paint light blue for the stripe outline, then paint the black stripe, then paint the mid-blue all over, then paint the clearcoats.

The colour is a bit washed out in the photos .. it actually looks better in real life. I'll try and get some better photos?

It's not perfect by any measure, but for about AU$150 in materials I'm happy. I did a reasonable job with the dents on the tank too!

That looks great OzJavelin! What type of fairing/fly screen is that and who do I have to kill to get one?

Here's the latest. I finished the fuel cover tonight, but too dark to photograph:

Dude that looks great. Paint seems smooth, has a nice shine, mini fairing fits well so whats not to like. Great job. I'm waiting to paint mine now, it's so humid here in NOrth Carolina that paint will sag if you don't watch the numbers in the humidity. Again great job. Sachsaca
