    80 to 85 front end

I have replaced the front end of my 80' 1100ET with one from an 85 1150.
I am trying to decide whether or not to keep the square 80' headlight and original cluster. What have some of you done to mount the square headlamp housing to the front end? If I dont keep the headlight and cluster, I was thinking of getting a dual round headlight and TrailTech Vapor display. Whatcha think?

I have not see what you incompatability is but I have been adapting GE1100EZ/ED headlamps to 41 and 50/52mm GSXR forks and guage clusters to 41mm triples. See my Gixxer conversion thread.

        dont be a heathen .......

the square light and cluster make that bike what it is . have seen many ,particularly on here, with round lights and other clocks and in my opinion it ruins a classic and perfectly good body work design .....

im assuming the stanchions are not the same diameter.

i retained mine on gsxr usd forks. i took the original bracket and cut off the round bits that slide over the stanchions. i then got some new ones knocked up by a friend in a machine shop to match the diameter of the usd tubes.i allowed a small bit of play to slip in some rubber to have it sit snug and not scratch the ally tubes. then had em rewelded and painted.

they look the same as the regular bracket ..now just with bigger stanchion hoops.light sits in same position as before.

clocks were easy...bit of threaded rod and some ally bar ...you can get em to sit pretty much how you want em
