Scored this bike running, but not well for $400 bones. Cleaned the carbs, put fresh gas in it, and it runs like a top. I've always loved bobbers so i figured what the heck, its only 400 right?? Was bored tonight so i figured it was as good a night as any to start.

Pile of "extra" parts. I even scored a poncho from the PO which he left in the rear fender box....

Ya might need some of the brackets on the cut off junk. Dont throw the stuff away yet! I cut the bracket for the rear brake line off of the junk and weld it in place on my rigid. Theres some good stuff there you can re-use. What amazed me was how thin walled the stock tubing is. Cheaply manufactured forsure.

I'm from Brazil, IN. I didnt get any sleep last night. I just layed there and thought of some kewl details to add to the bike. I was wondering what to do with the rear brake light mechanism. You say you just cut the bracket from the stock frame and welded it to your hardtail? I know i know i cut up a perfectly good bike....sorry

Brake light switch was remounted inside the frame rails by the master cylinder. I used the stock mount and just cleaned it up and rewelded it.

Made a little headway this weekend...Got the main tubes for the hardtail notched and welded up. I dropped the bike until the swingarm was level with the ground. Intially I was going to run a sportster tank, but i kinda like the looks of the stocker. I was kinda thinking of attempting to dish the sides alittle. Whats everything think? Also, should i grind the welds smooth?? Or just leave them as is?Last edited by Guest; 08-30-2009, 11:38 PM.
