      Wow, Looks like a really fast street bike. At first I was wondering why you "need" a TURBO 1150; U must be a nut .

      But now I see you mostly run it at the track .

        Yes I am in Alabama.

        Yes I live in Alabama. I do run it mostly for fun at the track, Can you ever have enough power??? Anyway.... I started phase one, the rear wheel. So after a quick run to Wal-Mart for the Qircraft Quality Stripper, matte Krylon aluminum spray paint and a can of Krylon gloss clear. $17.35 I headed back to the house and pulled the rear wheel off of the GSXR750.

        Then I sprayed the whole wheel down with the stripped and let it sit for 10 minutes. while it was doing it's thang (red neck term) I pulled the wheel off of the 1150. came back over to the 750 wheel and a couple of swipes and there was the nice machined lip of the wheel. A note here, get you a green scotch brite pad to help loosen the stubborn areas. You might have to spray it several times. The tire will not be used I am getting a new one. It will burn your hands so use some gloves that are throw away. Here it is with the stripper working.

        after i had exposed all of the machined lip of the wheel I took it to the local car wash to pressure wash it. hit McDonalds while i was out.

        Here is where I tapped the wheel up. First you use electrical tape to mask off the machined part of the wheel. the electrical tape allows you to put it right up next to the cast part that I will be painting. The rest is done with masking tape. here is the electrical tape on the wheel and you can see it has been pressure washed. it was a white wheel once.

          more rear wheel.

          Make sure you wipe the wheel down good before painting. I used the aluminum matte first. after it's painted it looks kinda like those robots in a Mr Roboto video. this is where the clear comes in. When the aluminum drys I apply the gloss clear and that gives me the finish and color I want. I wanted it to be close to the 1150's frame color and it looks good. Here is the wheel tapped up and sprayed with the aluminum. You can do this and not take your tire off. Just tape it up good.

          After it dried good I sprayed the clear on it and it had the nice color I was looking to get. I then peeled the tape off put the disc, sprocket carrier on and test fit everything. here are a couple of pics of both sides. It sits lower off of the center stand. it's close.

              No only the center is painted. the lip and edge are bare aluminum. there's no paint to mess up. only the center cast and spokes are painted. I am going to six flags over Georgia tomorrow, I am taking my daughter and her best friend for her birthday. so I will put the front end on Sunday after church. More pics to come....I am not boring you guys am I???

                NICE turbo 1100.. I would LOVE to take that bike to bonneville with the full fairing an running 15lbs of boost.. that would be a rocket ride i i would leave the fairnig, go for some different sprockets and see what it would top end at at.. THAT would be a rush.. If you decide to pull the faring.. Let me Know i would love to own it. it is almost too nice to change over..

                  Phase 2....the front end. It was a fun filled day at Six Flags but now back to the 1150. I just fitted the front end and got it set up. I am going to pull the forks back out and put new seals in them and do the strip and paint to the wheel. I used a mock up wheel for the back since I am getting my new tire on the rear rim. First I removed the 1150 bars and pulled the triple tree top

                  Then I used a jack to slowly raise the front of the bike up to remove the complete 1150 front end. You do not have to take the controls loose just take them off of the bars and lay them on the side of the bike.

                  1150 front end out now.

                  The bearings on the 1150 and the GSXR front end are the same. but you have to reuse the GS dust cover for the top bearing then use the rest of the GSXR parts. 750 front end going on,

                    Once the front end was on I took the GSXR750 bars which are normally mounted under the top triple tree and revesed sides, flipping them and putting them on top of the triple tree. This gives you a not so aggressive riding position that is just a tad higher than the stock ES bars were.

                    Here is a couple of shots of the side view with the mock up rear wheel. I will get on the front wheel this week and mount the new front tire, strip it and paint it. I am going to use one front disc but swap out a twin piston for a 3 piston Hayabusa caliper. It's a direct bolt on. I still have a lot of things to do. right side

                    I plan on fabricating some brackets and use the stock 1150 front fender to make it look more original.

                      Man do you work fast.
                      I get the weight saving of a single rotor and caliper, i prefer the look of the twin rotors.

                        And it stops better with two. The front end already had steel braided lines so I might stay with two. The disc on the left front is stock and the one on the right is EBC so they don't match. On the race track they just had to work but not match. I have some on a Bandit front wheel but they have the gold center section. I might keep it with two. I need to look around and see if I have some more matching rotors. I had to modify the top triple clamp to except the 85 ignition switch. I wanted to keep the one key fits all theme plus it still has the original Suzuki Key. That was one of the hardest things to do so far. I still have to change the front sprocket out and cut the 530 chain to fit. I still am not sure on the ES faring yet? It kinda looks a little better lower to the ground and with the modern wheels I am going with a 17 tooth front and I have a 42, 43, 44, 45, 48 and a 50 rear 530 sprocket. The bike had 15/42 630 on it I am now 530. Which sprocket should I go with for the rear? it's a turbo and has a ton of torque. ?????

                          Mounting those clip-ons on top of the triple takes away some of the length of the GSXR750 forks, which are on the short side anyway. It's a good thing you don't have a collector under the bike. It also looks like you're using a GSXR1100 top triple if I'm not mistaken due to the mounting hole for the clip ons.

                            If you remove the fairing I'm interested in seeing how you mount the clocks. Always a challenge on a front end swap.

                              With a body mountd fairing I think the clocks mount to the fairing and do not attach to the triple. For an ES, this mod is pretty much a bolt on. I'm guessing the 1150 fender might even fit without a lot of fuss.

                              By the way BigT you are sure making show work of this conversion
