I may remove the faring, I have not decided yet. sitting like it does now I kinda like it. But I do have the E model headlight in case I change my mind. The bars are the 750 bars that were mounted under the 750 triple tree. I pulled them off and mounted them upside down and and swapped from left to right. this gives you the more upward bend in the bars and puts the mounting hole on the triple tree. It does take some of the heigth away from the forks but I don't have to bother with headers under the motor because of the turbo. I still have to mount the billet boost gauge and the 3 position toggle switch that turns the air comp. for the airshifter on and timing retard for starting when hot. Still got a few things to iron out. The GSXR rear disc has less diameter than the GS so the brake arm that is on top for the GS want work. the GSXR will work but the the caliper is mounted on the bottom so I will have to weld a tab on the underside of the swingarm. and I can't weld aluminum here at the house. I have to get some Aluminum strips to make the front fender mounts. put the new tires on, chain and sprockets, keep or get rid of the ES faring. A lot of fitting left to do. more to come.

With a body mountd fairing I think the clocks mount to the fairing and do not attach to the triple. For an ES, this mod is pretty much a bolt on. I'm guessing the 1150 fender might even fit without a lot of fuss.

Yes that is a Mr. turbo kit strait off the shelf from the late 80's. The bike has an old Pro Mod motor in it with the best of everything. It was a 1428cc motor on spray but now it is a 1395cc low compression turbo motor. It still has the Dyna 4000 super pro ignition and the 2 dial Schnitz box.
It's a monster. I am trying to get it finished because there is a big bike race in Hattiesburg, MS at Hub City Dragway on the 17th of Oct.. A really nice 1/4 mile track that we go to. It is always prepped very good and the turbo 1150 stands a better chance in the 1/4 mile where the big upper end power can be used. It should be in the 8's or really close. I would like to give the newer bikes a taste of some old GS power. I actually ran the fastest time I have ever gone on a streetbike at this track. On my Velocity stage 3 turbo busa I went a 8.18 @ 181mph in the 1/4 mile. Thing is I still got beat. pic of the turbo busa
Hopefully I will have it ready. that is one of the reasons I have been hitting it hard on the bike.

The gauges on the 1150 are mounted in the faring. actually mounted to the faring stay. They have four mounting tabs unlike the two on the E model. the lower plastic cover for the gauge is open on the sides where the bracket sticks out of it. I could use it as is but to make it look right I will have to find the E gauge mount and the E plastic cover for the bottom. Mounting them to the upper tripl tree is easy and can be made to look factory with little work. I am still undecided on the ES faring. It would offer up some wind protection and really does not look as bad as I thought it would with the new parts on the bike. But... I still may. I sold my 86 1150 and he turned it into this bike.
He used the GSXR gauges but I kie the box look of the stock gauges. I wish I had not sold him that set of chrome wheels now. The is the look I am going for. not quite as show as he did. but still you get the idea.

I also used the GSXR guages with my forks. I like the look and the fact I have a speedo that goes above 80 MPH.

Yea I have the gauges for the 750 but they just don't look right. The GSXR gauges are mounted to the top triple tree. I think the 83 1100ES has it's gauges mounted in the faring and so does the 1000S. the first gen Bandit's had them mounted on the triple tree but the second gen S models were mounted in the farings. First Gen chrome Bandit gauges look really good on the GS with no faring.

bars mounted
OK so I got the bars where I wanted them. they feel good. had to do a litlle fabing to get things to fit. these are the GSXR750 bars mounted upside down and reversed sides on top of the triple tree. I still have to drill and tap the holder tab for the clipon's and mount the boost gauge to the triple tree. not bad but there sure is going to be a lot of cleaning to do.

front end
OK so I was trying to beat the rain. Stripped the front rim and mounted the new front tire after rim was finished. did it the same way as the back rim. I made the fender brackets out of the GSXR front fender mounts. I thought it would look better with the original fender. I only used one disc for now. not sure if I like it or not.
My cat watched me. she was not impressed

Yea the bike had a stock almost pefect paint on it. He wanted to go for a Show look. He has a shop and does custom work. Here is what it looked like when he picked it up from me. I sold him the chrome rims with the bike and a USD front end. It was my old 1327 86 1150
