Well, I met my goal of getting on the road before the salt trucks do. I gotta say, it's pretty freakin' fun (I've never ridden a crotch rocket),& with the new seating position, it just feels faster.....now i can take her apart and really get in the detailing..

Looks good! Of course the masses here wont agree but who the hell cares? Nothing like the first ride huh?

Now get busy taking that thing apart cleaning and replacing parts and you'll have an awsome bike come spring time! Break out the bench grinder and polish anything that will polish. The most time consuming chore but its what makes em stand out.
            Congrats!

Question, you have a little fairing on it? Cant tell from the pic.

I'm always impressed by the work everybody does here. Good job.

Just ordered set of 0 pullback dragbars for mine. The dirtbike bars gotta go.

                Anymore update pics?
Octain, just so yaknow...Clubman bars, while the cafe de rigur..are NOT comfy... If you like riding the thing more than just tossing it about now and then, I'd suggest keeping the bars you have your bike. I have used clubmans many a time, and with Rearsets, they're tollerable for a bit, but without em..its torture..

it's a flyscreen that i got on ebay a couple years ago. it does a really nice job of taking wind off of my chest.

                  thanks for the good words...

Im leaning towards keeping the drag bars on it. Done about 400 miles on the bake so far, getting used to em.
Friend of mine has em on a 78 CB and although they do indeed look good they're not at all comfortable.

                    Thanks for the input.

                          Cool thanks!
Looks good but I think Im leaning towards the full mini cafe fairing thing.
I does give the bike a different look for sure.

                          Any plans with the exhaust?
Did ya sell all the removed parts yet? You should be able to fund the rest of your project with the coin. Lots of desirable(to many) parts on what ya started with.

                          Keep us posted!!

The seat is homemade. the seat deck is plywood, the seat back is composite (all painted and sealed). I used foam and marine vinyl to finish off the seat. The rear piece is original, I mounted a tail light right in the back & turnsignals under the whole thing. it was a lot easier than i thought it would be, I just tried to take my time, and plan ahead.
                              Good Luck,

In taking apart my bike, there was a rubber "pouch" that held several wire connections ( keeping them from the elements, I figured ), that was located under the seat. Does anyone know the exact term for it, and/or where I might find a replacement? the old one was pretty dry rotted...
                                Thanks,
