    Single Speedo

Going to a speedo only, and not using a tach on my gs750 bobber. I don't know what to do with the openning created in the head by the absent tach cable. Any ideas?

I'd cut the thread off the old rev counter cable and use it to hold in a rubber blanking grommet. No mechanical need for the grommet as you won't (shouldn't) get any oil leaks - it would just look neater.

I should think you should be able to plug it easy enough. Even if you have to cut the sleeve from your old cable, cut it down and plug the end.....

        Speedo...

Suppose it would depend how much pressure or oil leakage mught be present. If you took the end of an old tach cable and clipped it off leaving a little bit of the end exposed to pop on a black rubber cap it might work.
The type of caps found at the auto store for vacuum connections.

        I'm slow. hahaha....

        Yea, what they said.

For the screw in type of cable i've cut one off the end of an old cable & welded the hole in it up then installed as usual or ive removed the whole tacho drive & installed a bolt of the correct thread

For the type thats held in by a small plate & screw ive made an ally blanking plate & installed that with a smear of sealant

no problems with either way as there is not enough pressure there to cause leakage

Ace Hardware. Dont forget to take the tach cable to size it up. I used teflon tape.

The cleanest way is to get a cap off of an ESD. They used the same 82-83 heads with mechanical tach but the ESD was electronic tach.

Thanks. Ace Hardware sounds good to me.
